April's Use Your Words

This weeks theme on my BFF April's blog is 'Use Your Words'. April challenged us to make cards with just out word stamps.  So here's my cards.

A few weeks ago I made two backgrounds by embossing a swirl and then inking all over. One blue and one peach.  They turned out cute but then sat on my desk for two weeks trying I decide what to do with them.
I decided to stamp my words on some velum and then put that on top my design backgrounds.   On the blue background I used the stamp from Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamp Set, Good Thoughts.  The stamp on the peach background is from stamp set Fiskars 8x8 Inch Good Times Clear Stamps

One thing I found was that it takes ink a lot longer to dry on velum.  So I made some small black dot smudges on them.   That's when I decided to add the bling.  I put that on top of the smudges and now they are mostly gone!  LOL

Have a great day!  Thanks for stopping by.  I love reading all the comments so if you have time, please leave one!

Thanks!

WOYWW

It's WOYWW.  For those that don't know what that is it means "What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday".  Our host, Julia has brought a lot of people together around the globe.  We get to check out all the goodies on everyone else's desk.
So here's my messy desk.  No more album - I finished that last week.  It was a gift for the coach and she loved it!

My BFF, April, has a theme on her blog every week.  This week is 'use your words'.   So here I am getting ready to make a card for her blog.  You will have to come back tomorrow and see what I made.  But I'll give you a hint -I finally used those blue and yellow papers with white flourishes that have been sitting on my desk for 3 weeks!  Also on my desk is birthday fish card I made for the AI watercolor challenge.  To the right of it is another AI card I made for a class that I'm helping April teach this Friday.  That version of the camera card was a bit of a flop - but it gave the idea for the shaker card for the class which turned out well.

Well, enough for me  - I'm going to check out everyone else's workspaces.

Have a great week!
Thanks for all the comments last week.  I love to hear from you!

AI Challenge 180 - Watercolor & White Pen

I made this card for the Art Impression Challenge 180 - Watercolor & White Pen

Here's my card:

The stamp set I used is the AI Zoo Crew Deep Breath Birthday (Sku#4471) .  I water colored the image using Zig Clean Color water color markers.  I fussy cut the images and used a 3D ZOT on the cake, and a action wobble on the fish.  I added a little white pen to the cake to give it a little more dimension (well, plus it was required in the challenge!).   I also used the Zig Clean Color markers to create the background. First I colored with two shades of blue then bushed with water to blend.  Then I spritzed with water mixed with perfect pearls. This gave the background some shine and also water spots. I highlighted some of the water spots with a white pen to make them stand out more like bubbles.

I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set on some pink paper and cut it out with the Stampin Up  Balloon Bouquet Punch. I cut out the strings and bow for the balloons using a Lil' inker die - Balloon String Die.   I added some highlights to the balloons using the white gel pen.

Here's a video of the wobble action.

Thanks so much for stopping by & have a great day.  If you have moment please leave a comment - I LOVE to read them all.

WOYWW

It's WOYWW.  For those that don't know what that is it means "What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday".  Our host, Julia has a lot going on in her life and is in need or prayers across the world.  Please keep her in your prayers.

On to my messy desk.  This week I'm working on a photo album from my son's volleyball team.  There are 9 kids on the team and I'm trying to do a page for every boy and several team pages.  Hopefully I'll get it done this week.

I used my Silhouette to cut out each of the boys names, and headings for the album.

Also I couldn't find any volleyball stickers that I liked, so I just made my own.  I printed a page of volleyballs and then added 3D Crystal Lacquer.  Here's a picture of them drying.

That's it for this week.  Thanks for stopping by.  I LOVE reading everyone's comments, but I also understand not having time.  And no need to apologize for coming by late & commenting - I love hearing from you at any time!!

Have a great week!

Get Well

A couple people asked about the card that was on my desk on WOYWW. I had made it a couple days ago for a friend at work.  Here's a better picture of it:

If you can't read the sentiment it says 'That's why the call it I.C.U'.   It's a new Art Impression stamp found at Micheal's. I just loved it!  I colored it with my Copics.  I added a little extra swirl using my new die from Lea'bilitie - Frame elegant.

Thanks for stopping by. If you get a chance leave a comment I love reading them all!

Have a great day!

WOYWW

It's been another very busy week. So many plans and so many things undone!  Another week where I planned to go play in my craft room, and never made it.  So, here’s my desk – several things in progress and nothing complete.  LOL  But the good thing is I get to check out everyone else’s desk by visiting WOYWW over at Julia’s Stamping Ground

I had this wonderful idea to make a background with bunny ears.  I thought I would use a cookie cutter, watercolor paper, color burst, & water.

You can see from below it was a total bust!  Oh well.  I’ll try again another time!  If anyone has some suggestions I’m open to them!

So I decided to go back to my other unfinished project – the roses in the vase.  I had colored the roses and then I colored the vase on another paper and added 3D Crystal Lacquer to make the vase look more like glass.

So here’s the pieces….

And here's the finished card:

That’s it for now….off to see what everyone else is up too!

Have a great day!

Please take a moment to say hi!

AI Challenge 178 House & Home

It's another AI challenge.  This is the card that I made for AI Challenge 178 House & Home.  I LOVE AI stamps.  They are so much fun to color and make cards with.   I have FOUR BINDERS filled with AI stamps...and I am running out of room and need to make another binder. This challenge was about house and home...and a home is not complete without the love a cat....or several cats as in this card!

Here's the front:
And here's the inside:

Let's take a closer look at each side:
Left:

Right:

Let's talk about how I made it.  The stamp sets I used are :AI Purrr-thday Set (Sku#4568) (Cats front and back); Art Impressions® Clear Stamp Set, Crazy Cat Lady (Inside image & sentiment); AI Window Die (Sku#4619) (window & shutters - outside); Art Impressions Dies, Window Deco (Window curtain  inside).

For the outside bricks.  I used some ColorCore sandable cardstock.  I embossed it first with my brick embossing folder. Then I sanded it to get the red bottom color.  The end result looks like bricks on a house.

It needed something else, so I cut grass using my Silhouette.  I also thought the wall in the inside was missing something, so again, using my Silhouette I cut a picture and picture frame.

Ms. Ellie has to help me write my post!  She's perched on the top of my chair.  Here's the view with me out of the chair.  She's the queen!

Thanks for coming by.
As always I love reading the comments,  If you can take a minute just to say hi!  Have a wonderful day!!!

WOYWW

It's been a very busy week.  I haven't had a chance to post since last week!  Oh well, it's Wednesday...which means it's time to go check out everyone's blog on WOYWW over at Julia’s Stamping Ground.  It's so much fun to see what everyone is working on.  It gives you tons of ideas...and makes me a little jealous of the talent out there!  LOL.  My desk has several things going on.  Let's take a look:

On the left towards the top by my glasses you can see some sympathy cards I worked on just haven't put in baggies.

Then to the right of that is a blue paper with a white swirl - there's  yellow one just like it underneath - I was just playing around with backgrounds.   Sat them aside to dry, and that's about all I've done...that was 4 days ago..my guess is they are dry!  LOL

In the front of my desk is a card I'm working on for the new AI challenge 179.  It's a work in progress.  I hope to get it finished tomorrow night after my son's volleyball practice.  Worse case I will have it done and ready to post by Friday.  So come by and check it out.  I've been looking at some of the other cards in the contest...and they are fabulous!  But I'm going to enter anyway just for fun!  :)

Also in the top right you can see one of my many binders that holds my stamps.  I have 4 BINDERS of Art Impression stamps...I'm a little addicted.  :)  Sad thing is there are so many more I want!!!!

Bottom right is my Misti - LOVE my Misti.  It makes stamping so much easier.  And the best part if you leave the stamp on the misti, you can then stamp again AFTER you have colored - it helps bring back out the dimension of the stamp and darkening up the lines again.

Enough of my desk....I'm off to snoop on yours....Have a great day& thanks for stopping by.  All comments welcome - I LOVE to read them all!!!

WOYWW 352

Again not a lot of progress, but I did manage to clean everything off my desk.  Of course it's all shoved in a box on the floor - but my desk looks better & the box is not in the picture!  LOL  What is in the picture is some paper to make a St. Patrick's Day card.  St. Patrick's Day theme at my BFF April's blog.  So I have paper, but that was about as far as it went.  No St. Patrick's Day stamp, no 'Kiss Me I'm Irish'...nothing!

So I found the word clover in a stamp I had, and decided that was close enough.  So this is what I came up with.  Simple and sweet - and St. Patrick's colors.

Naturally I couldn't find my green bling.  So instead I took some clear rhinestones and colored them with my Copic markers.  Walah - Green Bling!

Thanks for stopping by.  I love hearing from you so please take time just to say hi in the comments.  Have a great day!
