Art Impression "Playful People" Challenge

I LOVE Art Impressions stamps, so I made this one for the Art Impression "Playful People" Challenge.  Nothing can be more fun then hanging with your peeps - and shopping!!!

I used the stamp set Shoppers Front.  I colored using my Copic markers.   I made a background using distressed inks.  I fussy cut the stamp so the girls would pop.  To make it pop even more, I stamped, colored and cut out the card again.  I also went over the car with clear Wink of Stella to make the car sparkly.  I also added some acetate paper before the popped up car for the windshield and added Glossy Accents to the headlights to make them glow.

Here's the final result:

Challenge 181 - Add a Brad

Art Impression Challenge 181 - Add a Brad.   I love Art Impression stamps, and this new stamp I found at Michael's is no exception.  I added flowers and brads to two of the girls hats to make they really big and stand out.  Here's my card for the challenge:

The image comes from the stamp set  New Hampton ART IMPRESSIONS RUBBER STAMP clear cling set GOT STYLE.  The saying for the card was from anther AI set - Dare to be Fabulous.  I thought how perfect with the BIG accessorized hats.  :)

I made the background by following a post  - Caught In Crystal  by PartiCraft

First you squeeze 3D Crystal Lacquer acetate.

Then you drop alcohol inks.

Then lightly sprinkle some perfect pearls that blend with your colors.

Lastly you crinkle up  a piece of tissue paper and then lay it on top & pat down - I used my brayer.

The let it dry.
I couldn't get a picture without a glare - but this is the end result.  My tissue paper was too big - but my first try I made it too small! So I figured it was easier to cut off the excess after it dried!    I made this with a 8.5 x 11 piece of acetate so I could cut it into several backgrounds.

April's Showers & Flowers

This week's theme at April's blog is flowers and showers.  Today I made my flower card for April.

The images are from Lawn Fawn - Our Friendship Grows and its corresponding dies.

I colored this card with Copics - YG25, YG03, E35, E15, E18, E23, Y18, YR15.

I used Lea'bilitie die - Flower frame for the frame around the flowers and for a little extra on the inside.

Here's the inside.

I also used pop dots to give dimension to the card. I added a little white gel pen on the flowers also.  Here's a view from the side.

That's it for today.  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by. If you have a chance leave a comment and say hi!

Hugs!!

Get Well

A couple people asked about the card that was on my desk on WOYWW. I had made it a couple days ago for a friend at work.  Here's a better picture of it:

If you can't read the sentiment it says 'That's why the call it I.C.U'.   It's a new Art Impression stamp found at Micheal's. I just loved it!  I colored it with my Copics.  I added a little extra swirl using my new die from Lea'bilitie - Frame elegant.

Thanks for stopping by. If you get a chance leave a comment I love reading them all!

Have a great day!

WOYWW 352

Again not a lot of progress, but I did manage to clean everything off my desk.  Of course it's all shoved in a box on the floor - but my desk looks better & the box is not in the picture!  LOL  What is in the picture is some paper to make a St. Patrick's Day card.  St. Patrick's Day theme at my BFF April's blog.  So I have paper, but that was about as far as it went.  No St. Patrick's Day stamp, no 'Kiss Me I'm Irish'...nothing!

So I found the word clover in a stamp I had, and decided that was close enough.  So this is what I came up with.  Simple and sweet - and St. Patrick's colors.

Naturally I couldn't find my green bling.  So instead I took some clear rhinestones and colored them with my Copic markers.  Walah - Green Bling!

Thanks for stopping by.  I love hearing from you so please take time just to say hi in the comments.  Have a great day!

Shake, Rattle & Roll

I decided to use one of the new AI stamps. These girls are having so much fun. To me it looks like that they are at some sort of fun party or reception and are goofing off in the photo booth getting their picture taken.

I colored the girls with Copics using the following colors.
Dresses- R24 R27; B04 B06; V04 V06; Hair - E35 E23; Y28 Y15; E07 E04; Skin.- E50 E51 R20.  I added more glitter and shine to their jewelry, shoes, & photo props using my Wink of Stella pens.

I made the shaker by putting together two rectangles & then cutting three times from a leftover piece of cardboard.  I learned this technique by the great details from Karen Day from the AI blog.

I cut out a camera using my Silhouette & cut the rectangle using the inside rectangle used above.  I cut a piece of acetate using the outside rectangle.

I used some black, grey, & white camera print paper in for the background. I felt that the black & white background, and the black camera really made the colors of the girls really pop!  I used some square sequins to shake inside.  I glue some of those some sequins around the card just to have it all blend together.  I really like the effect.

Here' a few side views of the cards with the sequins shook around.

Here's another view with all the sequins piled at their feet.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day!!
Any comments are always read and greatly appreciated!

Too Cold - Think Sunny Beaches

It's so cold here, I'd rather be at a beach, so I thought about one of my favorite cards I made, but I never posted.  So here it is to warm us up!

I made the card using the AI stamp Lounger's Set.    I colored with my Copic markers. I are some Wink of Stella to add a little glittery look.

Here's a view from the side

You can see how the Wink of Stella colored over top the brown sand makes the sand sparkle and glisten and give a little more texture to the picture.

I also stamped and colored the umbrella from the stamp a second time & cut it out.  I used pop dots to bring the umbrella out for a 3D effect.  I also colored Wink of Stella over my colored umbrella.  I added the ribbon across the top using one of my We R Memory Keepers Weave Sew Ribbon Tool - it makes putting ribbons on easy!

Thanks for stopping by.  Like always any comments are always welcome and very much appreciated!!

LOVE!

Hello!  I made this card for the new Art Impression Challenge Love Love Love! Challenge 177

Here's the front:

And here's the inside:

This girl is so fun and cute.  I love the "Shake Your Booty" cards at Art Impression.  This one is from the Dancer Set.  I fussy cut both the front of the lady and the back of the lady.  Well, the back of the lady twice!  I colored and cut just her skirt the second time and used an action wobble to make her booty shake!  I colored her with Copic Markers.  (Skin-E50,E51; Blush-R20; Dress-B04,B05).  The shoes and the earrings were colored with Wink of Stella blue & purple.

I have a stamp from Funny Bone with the saying "I LOVE YOU WILL ALL MY BUTT I WOULD SAY HEART BUT MY BUTT IS BIGGER".  But I wanted it in two parts, so I just typed it in word and printed it on my computer.  That way I also had control over the size and font.

For the AI Shake Your Booty card I normally have the front image coming out a window, but I thought for love and Valentine's I would use a heart.    I cut all my hearts using the Ecstasy Crafts Nellie's Choice Multi Frame Dies, Heart, 10-Pack  die set.

Here's some side views of the card so you can see the image pop from the front, and the bootie wobble from the back.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!  Any comments are greatly appreciated.

Have a great day!

I also included this card in the Challenge #148 in the Aud Sentiments Challenge blog.

AI Paper Piecing

AI - Paper Piecing Party! Challenge 176

I stepped through the tutorial that Diane on the AI design team posted, and I thought I would give it a try.  Paper piecing involves a lot more cutting and a lot less coloring.

I just love all the Art Impressions Girlfriends stamps.  I have almost all of them!!  For this card, I used Art Impressions Stamp Uptown Girls Set.  Then I just used the simple sentiment of "Friends" from the Live Laugh Love set.

For each of the girls outfits I used paper from my stash.  I colored their skin & hair with Copic Markers.  I colored the girl's jewelry, glass frames, and shoes with Wink of Stella coloring pens to add little more glitz to match their glitzy outfits.

I had a pink feather that I received in a grab bag, and I had saved it "just in case".  I decided to cut a few pieces of the feather to add some textured to the first girl's boa.  Also for the big flower on her dress, what better to use then a flower embellishment from my stash.

I had a lot of fun picking out the papers I wanted to make their outfits.  It was like playing paper dolls!

Thanks for stopping by!   Any comments and advice are always greatly appreciated!!

Have a wonderful day!

ADDITIONAL NOTE: I was honored to receive the Top Spot in the AI Paper Piecing Challenge with this card. I'm so excited I just can't stop smiling. Thank you Art Impressions!!!

Get Well From Group

I needed a get-well card for a friend at work to be from all nine of us at work.  She loves cats and dogs.
So Inky Antics (http://www.inkyantics.com/index.htm)to the rescue!
I stamped the group of cats from Inky Antics Cute Cats #3 Clear  on plain white cardstock and colored with my Copic Markers.  I then stamped the two different individual dogs from Delightful Dogs #2 on plain white cardstock and colored them with my Copic Markers as well.  I fussy cut the two dogs.  I used a couple pop dots to bring the Great Dane out a little bit, then used another pop dot on the hound dog to bring him out even more.  I thought it brought a lot of dimension to the card.  I ran the blue paper background through  my Cuttlebug using a Darice paw print embossing folder.  I still needed one more cat or dog to make the 9th person on my team, so I added a little cute cat in the inside from Cute Cats # 1 Clear.

Here are the results.  I hope you like it.  If you have any questions, just let me know!

Thanks!

Diane

Diet time

I love the AI people stamps and these just made me chuckle.   While trying to lose weight you need to laugh and have fun.  That's what these cards are all about.
I colored these three images with my copic markers.
