Well it's been over 2 years since I have posted.  
I'm going to try and start posting as least once a week - who knows maybe more often, but at least once a week.  I hope you stop by and see me!

These are two cards made from a Riley & Company stamp and Tim Holtz crazy dogs.

The sentiment is great words to live by:
"Learn a lesson from your dog.  No matter what life brings you, kick some grass over the crap and move on."  You don't even have to have a dog, but just know to move on!  I hope life brings you lots of happiness this week!  If something tries to bring you down, then just kick some grass and move on!  :)

April's Use Your Words

This weeks theme on my BFF April's blog is 'Use Your Words'. April challenged us to make cards with just out word stamps.  So here's my cards. 

A few weeks ago I made two backgrounds by embossing a swirl and then inking all over. One blue and one peach.  They turned out cute but then sat on my desk for two weeks trying I decide what to do with them. 

I decided to stamp my words on some velum and then put that on top my design backgrounds.   On the blue background I used the stamp from Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamp Set, Good Thoughts.  The stamp on the peach background is from stamp set Fiskars 8x8 Inch Good Times Clear Stamps. 

 

One thing I found was that it takes ink a lot longer to dry on velum.  So I made some small black dot smudges on them.   That's when I decided to add the bling.  I put that on top of the smudges and now they are mostly gone!  LOL

Rainbows for April

This week's theme at April's blog is rainbows.  So this is what I made for her.

Like the Irish card I made for her last week.  I made the background again like the video by Jennifer McGuire.  So first I stamped with the Hero Arts background stamp and used clear embossing.  Then I distressed ink diagonally  - barn door, dried marigold, mustard seed, mowed lawn, and salty ocean.  I then sprayed it with water mixed with perfect pearls.

I did stamps & embossed the THANKS for Stampin' Up Sale-a-Bration "For being you" set.   Again I colored the background using the same colors before.  Here's a look at the thanks before I sprayed it.

I again sprayed the "thanks" with the water mixed with perfect pearls.  Here's a side view of the effect the perfect pearls had.

Love is in the air

Here's another card for the Art Impressions Love Love Love! Challenge 177.    I used the set -Art Impressions® Clear Stamp Set, His & Hers Flying I got from Michaels.  Here's the card, then I will give a little more details.



First I stamped the image on white cardstock & colored with my Copic markers.  I decided that I wanted the plane to be flying through a sky of hearts.  I first had to stamp & fussy cut the image to use as a mask. 

 

I put the mask over my colored image.  I then used the hearts stencil from Stampin' Up & Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Barn Door. 

 

After I added the hearts with the stencil I lifted off the image mask.  What was left was the plane flying through a sky of hearts, just like I envisioned.  :) 

 

 

I wanted a little more dimension to the card, so I colored the propeller again and added 3D Crystal Lacquer. 

 

      

 

I cut it out and popped it up with a 3D Zot.  I got the sentiment from a hot air balloon set by Dare 2B Artsy - Lift Up Your Spirits.  I cut out the sentiment using a cloud die.

April's Irish

Well this week's theme for April is Irish & Leprechauns.    I finally found some Leprechaun stickers, but didn't come close to matching the background I already made, so NO Leprechauns.  :)

 

And this is probably still a stretch...I mean it has luck and a four leaf clover, so close enough for horseshoes.  So here's my card:

 

 

 

I watched a video by Jennifer McGuire.   Please watch her video for yourself - you'll be glad you did.  It's an excellent tutorial.  My first attempt did not turn out as good as hers, but I'll get better. 

 

So first I stamped with the Hero Arts background stamp and used clear embossing.

 

 

 

Next I used Tim Holtz distressed mini inks - Mowed Lawn & Broken China.  Afterwards I sprayed with water and let dry.  Below is the result.

I cut out the sentiment using these super cute dies from Lil' Inker Designs - Dual Dotted Rectangles Dies
